“Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.” – Imogen Cunningham
I’ve taken photos for as long as I can remember, but it was not until recently that the natural landscape meant anything to me. The first time a landscape really struck me was on a drive from Hume Lake to Sacramento, CA in 2004. I was listening to “Breathing Air Again” By Robbie Seay Band when I rounded the corner and was greeted by the most astounding nature. I pulled over and stood awe struck while the lyrics played on my car stereo, “Step outside our front door and gaze upon the stars and know we’re not alone. So run into the fields, scream louder than you can it’s good to be alive and breathing air again. Take the time to stop and stare Heaven’s beauty everywhere” It took me several more years before landscape photography sunk into my bones. Now I can’t wait until my next trip.
