For the last several years, I’ve let this site just sit. I’ve done small updates here and there but mostly it sat. I did not know what I wanted to do with it. For years I had a photography site and before that a graphic design service. Neither one fits where I am today. But the thing is I don’t know what fits where I am today.

In 2020 while most people had a mandatory slowdown – I had a manic speed up. I work in communications at a local church and we went from a church of almost 1000 meeting in-person to a church that met digitally. Then to a church that met outside for events – that often got rained out. Then pivoted again to meeting inside with distance and masks and tons of guidelines. To…well you get it. A lot of changes and the person who helps me in communications was out on maternity leave so that that left me. I was working 60-70 hours a week and utterly exhausted all the time. So thinking about working on my website was the further set thing on my mind. I did not want to spend any more time on the computer than I was already spending for work.

Fast forward to now (June 2021), well over a year since the pandemic began and things are still slowly returning to normal. Work has slowed back down to a normal pace and my brain has space to process things like what I want my website to be like. It has taken me a while to figure this out and honestly, I’m still not 100% on the direction other than different.

I still love photography but I don’t want it to be my main focus. I’m not taking on freelance clients so I don’t want it to be design-centered. While I am a minimalist/essentialist there are a million blogs about this right now. I love productivity tools and all things Apple but this is also covered in abundance. So for now, I’m not going to focus on anything. I’m going to write about whatever I want and not worry about all the people who say you have to have a niche or you won’t be successful. The thing is I don’t care if I’m successful or not. I just want to create

The thing is I don’t care if I’m successful or not. I just want to create.

So that is my plan to create. I hope that from time to time you find yourself on the journey with me and if I’m just typing this for myself – that is okay as well.

A few topics that I’m throwing around: creativity, photography, productivity, minimalism, mindfulness, gardening, digital art, and maybe even some travel thoughts.
