2016 is over and I’m already looking forward to setting photography goals for 2017. I will be honest and say 2016 was a hard year for me. I was sick all year and ended up having surgery in October, so I did not get to travel or shoot as much as I normally do. I’m working to change that in 2017. While I work on my 2017 photography goals I wanted to take a look back at 2016.

2016 in Review Images

January –I grew up in the desert and currently live in the South so snow is not something I get to see that often. January and February brought a few good snows to the Nashville area.

February – A little street photography. I loved the texture of this guys face.

March  -The tulips at our local botanical garden are always amazing and always a highlight.

April – Another street photo. I loved the playful manner of the guitar player with the street passerby.

May – We have a great natural area called Radnor. It’s one of my favorite places to go walk around. You never know who you will bump into. This owl is a common site on the trails.

June – After the storm. I loved the clouds in this shot.

July – Wildflowers! This year we seemed to have an abundance of flowers everywhere! I spent most of July with my camera to the ground.

August – My first real attempt at astrophotography. Hoping to get more chances this year.

September – I was able to get away to the Smoky Mountains a few times. One of those times was overcast and cool, which is a very odd thing for September in Tennessee.

October – This was the month I had surgery so I did not get to take a lot of photos. I did get to sneak in a few photos of a friend in town recording his album

November –  I love fall in Tennessee. It’s always a wonderful time to get outside and hike.

December –  My roommate and I explored a local lake on an overcast day. I just loved the storm clouds rolling in.

Thanks for checking out my year in review. If you have one please drop a link in the comments. I would love to see it! Let’s all get out and shoot more in 2017.
